When I'm sitting at my desk having my morning coffee, and sometime later, when I think I've had the whole cup, I find just one more sip...
kb.
Not a quarter, not a whole... just somewhere in between.
Last night was the first time Annie and I have ever been out together, just the two of us, on a Saturday night.
If you went through something a year ago, and let's say it felt pretty lousy, when you reach the same time the NEXT year, feelings that were present only 12 months before often come flooding back. You forget what transpired in the time in between, how you got happier, stronger, even better than you were 13 months ago.
Even back in David's days at NYU, "The Pink House" was known among East Village residents, primarily for its shocking color. Dave and his roommate answered an ad for an apartment in the building, but the landlord tried to squeeze too much money from the boys, so they went elsewhere.
I scold Annie for running near a moving car. As we're walking up the stairs to the apartment she says:
I woke up this morning and it was, (and still is) pitch dark outside. It's also completely silent at this hour, I'm talking country silent...without the crickets, pretty unusual for most city streets.
Stephanie, (David's friend from Paris,) is in town to complete her short film, "Infinite Tree." I will be helping her with the edit for the next couple of weeks, Kristian also came over to lend a hand.

"Sunny Sky's" is an ice cream store in North Carolina that sells a flavor called Cold Sweat, which is made with three varieties of hot peppers and two kinds of hot sauce. It's sweet and creamy and cool and spicy and prickly and fiery all at the same time--kind of like what I foresee for you in the coming week, Leo. To get the most out of this extravagantly paradoxical time, I suggest you take small bites. And please wait a while following each new mouthful to see what the after-effect is before you load up on more.
