Pure Gold
Last night David walked in the door with the mail in his hand and a huge smile on his face. "We got something," he said. I asked him if it was the check I was waiting for. "Better," he said, and he handed me a letter from Annie. I wasn't expecting it, but I must have needed it, and I probably should stop confessing on the blog how emotional I can be, but the truth is I literally burst into tears. I'm not sure if I've mentioned that we can only speak to Annie on Saturdays, and although I've talked to her counselors on the phone and they've assured me that she is having the time of her life, it's not the same as hearing her voice. Reading the letter, If I didn't know her better I'd think she was obsessed with food, but since she's a picky eater and knows I was concerned she wouldn't eat the food at camp, I think she is reassuring me that all is well and that she is attempting to take care of herself. Click on the letter to read.

Shaniqua, thank you for your kind words, I'm so glad I can offer you a little break in your long day. Your email gave me a big 'ol smile.

Joseph,
Next time, drink milk. Helps with choking back tears AND choking on peanut butter.
