Yesterday, as I drove north on the turnpike in New Jersey, I spotted the word "Who" in a cloudless sky.
I'm always looking for meaning, always looking for signs, and even though I never take them into consideration when making life decisions, I find all of it endlessly fascinating.
When I saw the word 'Who,' I was on my way home from the barn but would make a stop at a local market before crossing the bridge back to New York.
I had my camera on the seat beside me so I pulled over and snapped the picture...
Who.
I wondered what would come next...
Who wins?
Who will...
It seemed that the writing had stopped there, so I drove on. By the time I reached the market I saw...
Save us? Who will save us?
Who will she...
...choke?
Who will she choose.
After I had done my shopping I drove across the bridge, loaded in the groceries at the Homestead, then at my place, then went to meet Annie at the schoolyard. As she and I walked home she told me about her day.
"Mommy," she said, "I saw the coolest thing at recess!"
"Really? What was it?" I asked.
She smiled and said, "I saw the word 'Who' way up in the sky!"
I grabbed her, hugged her and told her what an amazing journey we're on, even if we don't know what it all means.
