Sitting at the sidebar

Jazz moves; it pounds and stirs the soul, leaving me closer to myself and more in love with the world.

Flying High by McCoy Tyner and the late, great Michael Brecker is doing just that, right now.

I hear that Micheal Brecker's last album is just out. I used to listen to George Clinton's P Funk stuff a lot and Michael Brecker was in the backing band. Was there anything he couldn't do??

I was fortunate enough to see him give the last performance of his life, when he surprised the audience at Carnegie Hall by walking on stage and playing "One Finger Snap" with Herbie Hancock, Ron Carter and Jack DeJohnette.

I do have his last album, Pilgrimage, and when I get it back from a friend, I'll post it at the sidebar.
