From the inbox

Here's an email my mother sent me this morning in response to a message I left her asking (for the third time), if she could babysit Annie next weekend.

Dear girl child,

Please don't ask again about the 16th. It makes me feel so
guilty! I can't stand it! HOW CAN YOU DO THIS TO THE WOMAN WHO BIRTHED YOU? HOW?!

I Still care.

Love,
Momma.

Hmmm ... I think I just had an ephiphany moment about a very dear friend ...

It's funny what we can learn from our parents and from our friend's parents too!!!

Well, is that a "yes" or a "no"?

cj: That would be a "No."

If you want to bring her up to Manitoba, I'd happily babysit Annie for the weekend ...

Though, I'm not sure Manitoba is ready for the cosmic event that bringing Ms H, Annie K, and Beetle together could trigger ...

oh well ... I'm up for the challenge!! Drop by any time !!

Thanks Shawn, I had a friend coming in from out of town next week, got someone to take care of Annie that night, then the friend's plans were changed. But I assure you, I'm keeping the sitter.

Thanks for the offer, I think Annie would do quite well on the Canadian prairies.

and YOU KNOW WE'D let her hang with us too!! She'd be surfing and playing the ukulele by the time she was to be back with you!

Annie loves the movie, "Gidget Goes Hawaiian," and she's learning the tuba in band right now, my least favorite instrument. A switch to the ukulele would please me to no end.

Thanks for the invite Dina, Hawaii, here she comes!
