When I reached the island and got out of the water, I couldn't see the girls and I panicked. I climbed on top of a ladder the size of a city building and stood watch. I cried and cried and cried, and the woman assured me the girls would come. I demanded we call the coast guard but the woman said the girls had to be missing longer. I watched the water, it was growing dark. I saw figures swimming and as they reached the shore, I saw that they were dogs.
When the sun rose, I ran to the dock and a little girl was standing there, smiling at me. "Annie!" I shouted, and then I saw it was her friend. I grabbed her and held her tight, I was sobbing when I asked where Annie was.
"She's in the bathroom," the friend said. "We've been swimming for two days."
I cried and cried and cried and cried, and then I woke up.

Katie! How ghastly! Glad you're awake. Where's Annie?
Out of the water and in class.
Ugh.
