You know how people suddenly get a craving for salt, or for steak, or for chocolate?

Well all of a sudden, out of the blue, I got a craving for one of the most heartbreaking and beautiful pieces of music by Pat Metheny-- Are You Going With Me from his album Offramp. Only problem is, I don't own it on CD--how did this happen?

Enjoy it--my God, I certainly am.

I can't tell you how many times I have watched this clip! Have you ever seen him play this live? Those last few notes where he wraps up the whole piece send shivers all over me every time I see him do this in person. I must say I think he must be seen live. I find his records - particularly in the last 15 years a bit bland (apart from his album of solo guitar - homage to Sonny Sharrock) although I love the album this is from - Offramp.

I have seen him play it live--in fact, once was around the time this video was made.

I agree with you about the albums-- although I do find his 1999 Soundtrack for "Map of the World" quite beautiful.

Glad you like the post!
