I think the most curious thing about the Beatles now is that everyone has John Lennon in the pantheon and yet Paul McCartney wrote nearly all the great tracks - particularly in the late era. I was working in Germany recently and had a group of people trying to decide on the most influential people of the 20th century. John Lennon was included by them. I then asked them to name their favourite Beatles tracks. Every single one was a PM one!
