A conversation in front of Public School 187, Monday:

Katie: Do you say the Pledge of Allegiance every morning?

Annie: Yes, but when we get to the part that says, 'Republic,' I stop because I know we don’t like them."

Katie, "No honey, that's republicAN."

Annie: "Ohhh."
