Cameron Crowe interviews the great filmmaker Billy Wilder in the book, "Conversations with Wilder," and here is an excerpt I particularly liked:

Cameron Crowe: There are so many films that are now called “Wilderesque.”…Was there any recent movie you’ve seen that made you say to yourself, “This guy gets it.”…

Billy Wilder: There are lots of movies I would like to have made—some wonderful movies…for instance, I would loved to have made M*A*S*H*. That was a first-class movie...the story, the actors—wonderful.
